Johnson County Stormwater Management has released a new study that has resulted in changes to the floodway and floodplain map for Mission Hills.

The City Council adopted the new map at the April 2005 Council meeting, and has been submitted for adoption by the State of Kansas and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). 

We have a large copy of the new map at City Hall for review, but you can also view small sections of the map here:

·     Area One – Mission Hills Country Club

·     Area Two – West of State Line Road

·     Area Three – West of High Dr.

·     Area Four – South of 63^rd St.

·     Area Five – South of 63^rd St.; East of Mission Dr.

Primary Goals of Johnson County Watershed Studies

• Update the current FEMA regulatory floodplain maps

• Identify floodplain boundaries for existing and future development

• Help reduce the creation of future stormwater problems in areas that are likely to flood as development occurs
